This ornament is one of the most famous, usually carved in wood. It is found in Lithuanian kanklės, under strings, seen on the ceremonial bucket of ancestral mead and on ancient doors in a remote village in India. We call it a rolling sun, a star, a sunflower. As if letters were arranged, light radiates between them every time, a primordial flowering erupts. And when multiplied and connected, the universal symbolism of the circle of life unfolds. Everything that is alive breathes, repeats the movement of expansion and contraction. Waters and grasslands know this language. It melts, disappears, becomes silent and returns uphill again. It floods, spreads, calms down, crumbles, is silent and matures. It gives up, rests, surrenders to the equinox and changes. It moves downhill, accumulates sap and grows again. We put this breath of life into the drawing on the light cover.
