Hanging lamp MIRGA
The pendant lamp, decorated with a geometric pattern, attracts the eye with its openwork. At first glance, they seem modern, but they are inspired by the Latvian textile tradition. The oak-colored lampshade is wooden, decorated with expressive rhombus motifs - a subtle example of the synthesis of ancient cultural heritage and modern interior. The basis of the decor was an ornamental fragment of the special stripes of the Lielvarde region.
The red and white stripes woven in the vicinity of Lielvardė are distinguished by the unpredictable sequence of archaic signs, as well as the unique fineness of the fabric. When a fragment of the stripe is transferred to the lampshade, it seems that the pattern is moving, rushing forward, flickering. Hence the name of the lamp “Mirga”.
