PurposeWhen choosing a table lamp, it is important to decide what purpose it will be used for. If you will be using it for reading, try to estimate at what height and how far from you the lampshade will be.
It is best if it is at eye level, whether on a desk or on a bedside cabinet. Since EtnoDesign lamps can also be fitted with LED 17.5W = 150W (incandescent bulb equivalent) bulbs, the light output can be really high. If you only need soft decorative lighting, you can choose an LED bulb of lower power – 10-13W.

Hood size. Table lamps usually have shades with the following diameters - 14 - 18 - 20 - 25 - 30 - 35 cm. For stands with an E14 bulb, the minimum shade height - 14 cm is required so that the bulb does not protrude above the shade. Stands with an E27 bulb are made higher than 16 cm for the same reason. By changing the diameter and height of the shade, which can be up to 40 cm, it is possible to have shades of various shapes. Pattern designs are usually quite easily adapted to different proportions of shades. The decor can be over the entire surface of the shade, or only narrow strips at the bottom, top or center of the shade.
A frosted diffuser, which partially covers the bulb from direct light into the eyes, is installed in hoods with a diameter of 25 cm and larger.
StandsThey are usually adapted to 2 types of LED bulbs - traditional E27 and a smaller base - E14. EtnoDesign covers come standard with a mounting ring suitable for an E27 base, but if necessary, we can insert a smaller ring (adapter) into it, which will allow it to be placed on an E14 base.
Metal stands, depending on the manufacturer, can be available in several colors. The most popular are matte brass and black, less often steel, red copper or white are chosen. Wooden stands are used less often, because it is quite difficult to match the color of the wood of the hood, because two different ones, placed next to each other, visually compete with each other.
Connection. Table lamps have their own cord and are connected to a socket, so it would be a good idea to plan its location in advance so that you don't have to use extension cords. On the other hand, a fairly long cord can solve the lighting issue if the electrical installation is already installed.
Switches are sometimes mounted on the cord, sometimes on the lamp base. Keep this in mind when choosing a convenient model for you, so that the switch is easily accessible and you don't have to wake up when you want to close a book and drift off to sleep.
