Growth of the tree of Vilnius I (Ø10 cm)

Drink coaster with a story
The old photos
hold trees
that live in them,
still growing.
They are as real and as old
as real are the houses,
even older in that old town.
And this town holds children
that grow and play,
And they run, are still running.
Through the tiles of the old pavements,
through the huge grey quadrates
that still stow their rushing feet
which strive not to step on a boarder
that connects one tile with another
and in this way, a line after line up
to that old tree.
You see, it grows out of the soil,
out of other time.

Design is inspired by the authentic vintage tree protection grid, common in older times of Vilnius
